(1) Choose the type of gear oil according to the contact stress of tooth surface.
(2) Select gear oil viscosity according to gear linear speed. Choose low viscosity oil for high speed. Choose high viscosity oil for low speed.
(3) Pay attention to the use of temperature. Oil temperature is high, oil viscosity should be large, summer with high viscosity oil, winter with low viscosity oil.
(4) Pay attention to whether the gear lubrication and bearing lubrication are the same systems. They are rolling bearings or sliding bearings. Sliding bearings require low viscosity of lubricating oil.
Generally speaking，Spur gears, helical gears, bevel gears and low speed light load spiral gears can be selected with industrial antirust and industrial gear oils. CKC medium load gear oil is used for gears with 343-1079MPa stress and impact load. CKD heavy duty gear oil is used for gears whose stress is more than 1079MPa.
